The 5 Coolest AI Tools From This Week

New Mind-Expanding Tools, News & Videos For The Week

The buzz around all this AI tech is at an extreme high and I'm here for it!

The new problem that we're running into is that there are so many tools being built around the same underlying tech that users are getting "decision fatigued." It truly feels like there a ton of tools coming out every day but very few novel tools.

That's why I created this newsletter... To help you slice through the noise and point you to the top of the heap. I review roughly 20 new tools per day. I personally install them, click around, put them through their motions, and come to a decision on whether or not I'd personally integrate it into my life or business somehow.

I created FutureTools.io to show you ALL of the tools I've messed with and this newsletter to narrow it down to the cream of the crop. I hope you enjoy it... And, if you do, tell a few friends about it as well. :)

Alright... Let's break it down.

🛠️ 5 Amazing Future Tools

1. Godly: This has to be one of the coolest tools I've come across in a long time and it's such a simple concept. You create a free account at Godly, upload whatever content you want into the system or link to a bunch of relevant URLs, and it will combine it with the existing GPT-3 model. So you can use it just like you would ChatGPT but it will also reference and include the information that you trained it on. You can even build an AI model around content that you've written and ask questions based on you. It's like adding a rocket booster onto ChatGPT (and it's free).

2. Fliki: This is a tool for people who want to create videos nearly on autopilot. You upload any text that you want into Fliki and it will convert it all into a pretty natural sounding voice and then add relevant stock video footage and captions to the video. Combine this with ChatGPT to write a script for you and you have an almost completely AI generated video. I used it to make a pitch video for FutureTools and was pretty impressed with the result.

3. Syntheses X: This is a chrome extension that lets you make similar images to any image that you find on the internet. Let's say you need specific images for a blog post but don't want to steal them from someone else's site. Search Google images for what you're looking for, right-click on an image that you like, and select the option to reimagine the image. It will then create an AI-generated version of a similar image that you can use royalty free. Check out the video in the link below for an example.

4.Mubert: This is an AI music generator. You give it some criteria of the music that you'd like to generate and it will create a song that you can use, royalty free. The site has both free and paid options. If you want to use the songs that you generate for free, you simply need to give credit to Mubert for creating the song. If you don't want to give attribution, they have paid plans that allow you to the use music unrestricted. If you've watched any of my recent YouTube videos, the song at the end of the video was created for free using Mubert.

5. GPT-3 Playground: ChatGPT is all the rage these days but, before there was ChatGPT, there was OpenAI Playground. Personally, I prefer it to ChatGPT and use it much more often. It's not constantly overloaded like ChatGPT is, it doesn't have the same restrictions built into it that ChatGPT does (want it to build a scraper for you? It won't tell you that's not allowed). And you can do really cool things like paste a link into the text box and tell it to summarize what's at that link for you. ChatGPT won't visit websites for you on your behalf. It's currently free to use too!

🗞️ 3 Fascinating News Articles

  1. Microsoft Has a Plan to Crush Google - News recently came out that Microsoft is attempting to purchase 49% of OpenAI and integrate GPT-3 into tools like Bing. This creates somewhat of a dilemma for Google. On one hand, Google has it's own AI with LaMDA, which is supposedly much better and trained on more data. However, they've been hesitant to incorporate it into their search due to both ethical reasons and the fact that it would likely have severe negative impacts on their ad revenue. Microsoft doesn't make the majority of their revenue from their search engine so it's less of an issue for them. Could AI revive Bing? Personally, I'd never bet against Google but it's going to be fun to watch.

  2. Meta Will Use Shutterstock’s Image Library to Train its AI - Stock photo sites are one business model that is currently being disrupted by the new AI technology. Many creators are turning to tools like MidJourney and Dalle to generate images for their websites and work, without the hassle of royalties and attribution. Shutterstock is finding smart ways to pivot. They've added image generation into their platform and they're partnering with companies like Meta to allow training on their image database. Other stock photo sites that don't figure out how to work with AI will likely go the way of the payphone.

  3. Artist banned from art subreddit because their work looked AI-generated - What a crazy time we're living in. If you create art that is not AI but looks close to AI, you can be banned from art communities? Artists taking a hard stance against AI (in my opinion) will look like those that took a hard stance against mp3 technology in the early days. No matter how much it's screamed about, it's not going to go away. The bigger ethical question is, should models be allowed to train on art that's not theirs... Not whether or not AI art should be considered art or whether those that use (or make art that looks like it) should be outcasted.

💰 A Money Idea To Try

Convert YouTube videos to TikToks:

This is a service that I know a lot of YouTubers wish they had. They spend a ton of time making their videos and polishing them up but they also know that they're missing out on a lot of eyeballs by not putting their videos on TikTok as well.

TikTok is an insane exposure-machine. It's not unheard of for people to get hundreds of thousands to millions of views on clips. Until now, it's been a chore for creators to ALSO be on TikTok. You can use AI tools like ClipMaker.ai to take existing YouTube videos and convert them to TikTok videos really quickly.

Find some YouTubers that are trying to grow their channel, reach out and offer to manage their TikTok for them, and use cool AI tools to effortlessly repurpose their content for them. Charge them a fair price, save them time, and stack as many clients as you can handle. This service is highly in-demand!

Thanks for checking out this week's FutureTools newsletter!

For those that are fans of the FutureTools website, here are some updates on what I'm planning for the site... I'd love feedback and ideas on how it can be improved. It's my goal to continue to make it more and more valuable every single day!

  • Fix the "Explore Other AI Tools" section at the bottom of each tool to share more relevant alternatives to the tool that you're looking at.

  • Create a "Matt's Picks" tag to help you narrow down the best tool for a certain task. If you're trying to decided between five tools that all do the same thing, the site will suggest what I'd pick.

  • More videos connected to tools. It's one thing to see a description of a tool but, if most of the tools have videos that show how they're used, you'll have a much easier time making a decision. I plan to curate much more videos from creators on the site.

  • Build out a prompting guide (exclusive to subscribers of this newsletter) that will share cool prompts that you can use in GPT-3, MidJourney, Dalle, Stable Diffusion, etc.

  • Overhaul the design. I'm not a designer and I don't quite know how the design should look yet but it definitely needs to be brought up to date. Looking for feedback and suggestions here. :)

Those are the current plans but, if you have any suggestions or feedback, reply to me or hit me up in the DMs on Twitter. I'd love to hear it!

Have a tool that you want to share? Submit it here.

Have a video you think people should see? Submit it here.

And don't forget to check out all of the newest tools we've just added on FutureTools!

Finally, if you have any feedback for me or ideas for this newsletter, get in touch! Replying to these emails will get to me and I will read all replies. I want to improve this and continue to make it something that you're super excited about each week. So all ideas are welcome!

You rock! See ya next week. :)
