Stop hiring humans?

Inside Nvidia’s new LLM

Welcome back. Reddit just launched “Answers,” a Gemini-powered search tool that turns Reddit threads into bite-sized summaries. No more digging through 48 half-baked takes to find one decent reply. It has the vibe of ChatGPT but the attitude of r/AskReddit.

Curious what Gemini thinks Reddit knows? Go ask it something weird.

Nvidia’s leaner model just beat the big guys

Via Firstpost

On Monday, Nvidia quietly launched Llama-3.1 Nemotron Ultra, a 253 billion-parameter dense model that outperforms DeepSeek R1 on reasoning-heavy benchmarks—despite being half the size.

Why it matters: Most high-performing models today use a mixture-of-experts (MoE) approach, activating only a portion of their massive parameter count at a time. Nemotron Ultra activates all 253 billion parameters every run and still manages to be more efficient and more accurate than larger competitors. It excels at complex tasks like code generation and multiple-choice reasoning.

What makes it work:

  • Trained with 153B tokens post-training

  • Uses GRPO reinforcement learning and knowledge distillation

  • Runs smoothly on just one 8x H100 GPU node

  • Includes a prompt-based “reasoning mode” toggle for deeper analysis

The big picture: Nvidia’s not just enabling AI infrastructure—it’s shaping the models, too. This release signals a shift toward smaller, open-weight, enterprise-ready models built for practical deployment, not just leaderboard points.

Artisan doesn’t take its own advice

Artisan has raised $25 million to expand its lineup of AI sales agents. The startup first made headlines with a billboard telling companies to “Stop Hiring Humans.” The irony? It’s now hiring 22.

The breakdown: Since launching in 2022, Artisan has grown to $5 million ARR with its flagship agent, Ava, now handling outreach for over 250 businesses.

  • Next up: Aaron and Aria. Artisan’s expanding its agent roster with two new bots—Aaron (for inbound DMs) and Aria (for managing meetings).

  • The goal is to cover the full sales funnel with AI-powered reps.

But the bots aren’t fully trained. Founder Jaspar Carmichael-Jack says early users churned when Ava hallucinated or misread tone—things human reps catch naturally. Now, Artisan’s leaning into hybrid sales: humans + agents, with optional success-based pricing.

Bottom line: This isn’t the end of human sales. It’s the start of bot and human tag-teams.
