5 Cool AI Tools & The TLDR in AI This Week

New Mind-Expanding Tools, News & Videos For The Week

What a week in AI again! I feel like if I blink I might miss some crazy new technology or announcement.

This week was no different. MidJourney Version 5 is on the horizon, rumors about GPT-4 coming out next week, Google demo’ing PaLM-E, and much more. What an exciting time to be alive!

On top of that, thanks to your support, this newsletter is growing like crazy, just passing 32,000 subscribers! The rate of growth in this space is mind-blowing and I’m just so appreciative that I’m one of the people you choose to tune-in to. I’m absolutely obsessed with this stuff and it’s my goal to keep my finger on the pulse and deep-dive into all of this stuff and then give you the high-level of what you should probably be paying attention to.

I hope I’m achieving that goal and I’m excited that you’re here for it.

Alright… On to what I got for ya this week. :)

Thank You To This Week’s Sponsor!

🛠️ 5 Amazing Future Tools

1. Wonder Dynamics: This is, by far, the most mind-blowing technology I’ve come across this week. This tool allows you to take live-action videos and replace humans with computer-generated graphics. Imagine recording a video of yourself running down the street and then replacing yourself with a computer generated 3D robot running down the exact same street following the exact same motions as the original video. This is not publicly available but this will change the way people do CG and VFX forever.

2. Magical: You can use Magical to fully automate the meeting process. Create a meeting agenda with AI, find ideal meeting dates and times based on your calendar and existing workload, and you can let the AI take all your meeting notes for you while you’re on the meeting. Magical uses AI to basically allow you to just show up to the meetings and it does the rest.

3. MapDeduce: This is a tool that allows you upload a document that has complex language and interpret it so that it’s easy to understand. With my own testing the responses were really good. You can use it for complex research papers, legal, documents, and more… And it’s free.

4. Whimsical AI: With Whimsical, you can use AI for mind-mapping. Start your mind map and Whimsical will help fill in the details. This makes brainstorming sessions really simple because you can start with a few root ideas and then let Whimsical fill in additional details and further expand upon your ideas in a visual and familiar way.

5. SwapFace: This is a tool that allows you to swap your face with another face and create videos in real-time. You can use it with tools like OBS and super impose someone else’s face over yours. Technology like this is getting kind of scary, we’re very close to being able to deepfake anyone in real time, on live video. (And it’s currently free)

🗞️ 3 Fascinating News Articles

  1. GPT-4 is coming next week – and it will be multimodal, says Microsoft Germany - This article is in German but can easily be translated with Google Translate. At an event yesterday in Germany, the CTO of Microsoft Germany claimed that GPT-4 will be dropping next week and it will be multimodal, allowing people to leverage audio, video and images, in addition to text. I’m personally still a bit skeptical and wondering if the CMO misspoke. This news comes only a week after OpenAI released the ChatGPT API, it’s coming from Microsoft (and not OpenAI), and there’s literally only one news source that I can find that’s reporting on it. But, if this is true, this will be the biggest news in AI next week!

  2. Discord starts testing ChatGPT-powered Clyde chatbot and other AI features - This is exciting news for someone like me, who runs a very active Discord server in the AI space. Moderation and keeping engagement high is often a challenge for community leaders. This will help increase engagement as well as answer common questions in a community that come up often. I’ve tried several “hacked together” GPT-3 bots in our community so far and all of them have left a lot to be desired. So I’m very excited to get my hands on this one!

  3. PaLM-E: An Embodied Multimodal Language Model - This isn’t technically a news article but it breaks down Google’s breakthrough new multimodal model called PaLM-E. This model uses text, image, video, and audio input to train its model. It’s being used for things like recognizing items inside of an image and then giving instructions on how to use what’s in the image, training robots to do repetitive tasks, and much more. After the unimpressive preview of Bard, Google has really redeemed themselves with what they’re showing off in this one.

💰️ A Money Idea To Try

AI Logo Designer:

There are so many tools available now to create logos. You can use Illustroke to make vector graphics or MidJourney to create more unique logo concepts. There are even new tools popping up specifically for logo designs, like Logoscapes, LogoAI, and MakeLogoAI, which all specialize in actually making logos.

You can offer logo services on Fiverr, Upwork, or reach out directly to sites that look like they could use a new logo. The beauty is that you can make unlimited revisions. Just keep using AI to generate more and more concepts until the client is happy. Some companies will pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for a good logo concept.

If you really want to go above and beyond, use a tool like Kaiber to animate the logo and give the company an animation that they can use on their site or at the front of their videos.
