Landing jobs with AI

The AI tools changing the game this week

Welcome back! Here’s another story to file under “AI is…weird”: A new study showed that GPT-4 performs worse (i.e. produced shorter outputs) when it thinks it’s December than when it thinks it’s May. 🤔 A potential explanation? The “AI Winter Break Hypothesis,” which suggests that training data taught AI models that it’s normal to do less work over the holidays. Can we blame them? Nope.

Today, I’ve got 5 new AI tools that I think you’ll love. Let’s dive in.

Visual Electric is the image generator for creatives

Visual Electric

When you have a design-oriented brain, it can be challenging to work exclusively with text prompts. That’s why Visual Electric has a different approach to generating images…specifically built for designers.

How it works: Visual Electric is an AI image generator designed to fit into creative professionals’ existing workflows. You can explore and iterate your ideas visually using the tool’s generative canvas feature, which lets you move images around freely and compare them side-by-side. You can also touch up generated images with a specific color palette and mood (choosing from styles like Airbrush, Cinematic, Neon, and more).

Bonus: After nailing your base image, using the tool’s “image upscaler” increases its sharpness and resolution in seconds. (Pricing: freemium)

Resume.co builds resumes in minutes

How it works: Resume.co offers 200+ resume templates (vetted by HR professionals) that you can customize using AI. All you have to do is choose your favorite template design and enter your personal information—then sit back and let AI fill in the blanks. All of Resume.co’s templates are tailored to pass applicant tracking systems (ATS) scans—a type of software commonly used by recruiters—by putting the right keywords in the right places.

Bonus: Using the information from your resume, Resume.co can also generate a matching cover letter in just one click. (Pricing: freemium)

Steer clear of scammers with Crypto Wallet Auditor

This fraud-detection tool helps you identify red flags in crypto transactions using AI analytics.

How it works: Crypto Wallet Auditor analyzes blockchain addresses and their interaction patterns with other addresses. Simply enter a wallet address and select a blockchain (the tool currently supports Ethereum, Polygon, and Binance Smart Chain wallets). Crypto Wallet Auditor then generates a report that predicts the future activity of the wallet owner, checks fraud probability (with a 98% success rate), and monitors a wallet’s transactions. (Pricing: freemium)

Zoom AI Companion makes meetings more efficient

Less than two months after Zoom launched its AI meeting assistant, the company upgraded it with some useful new capabilities.

How it works: Zoom’s AI Companion generates meeting summaries, condenses chat threads, and pulls highlights and smart chapters (with time stamps) from meeting recordings. The tool also extended its language support, so you can now translate meeting summaries into 32 new languages.

Bonus: Looking to uplevel your presentation skills? Try its new AI meeting coach, which uses sophisticated speech analytics to provide feedback. (Pricing: included with paid services in your Zoom account)

And that’s a wrap! I’ll be back in your inbox on Friday with a fresh news roundup of the week’s biggest AI headlines. Catch you soon!
