Top AI tools changing the game

Welcome back! I did it—I bought the new Apple Vision Pro. After spending hours playing around with it, I packed all of my thoughts into an extensive review video, covering everything from the headset’s coolest features to things I…didn’t like so much. Consider this one of the priciest videos I’ve ever made. :)

Socratic is your AI-powered tutor

Socratic

Socratic is a learning app from Google designed to help high school and university students (or just curious individuals!) understand academic subjects and double-check coursework.

How it works: There are three different ways to ask Socratic a question. You can take a photo of a problem with your phone camera, record a voice memo, or type in your question manually. Socratic then searches the internet to aggregate information from the best educational resources. You’ll get the answer to your question in step-by-step explanations, study guides, and links to relevant videos.

Bonus: Socratic has an “explore” feature that offers expert-curated educational content on standard subjects like biology, chemistry, history, algebra, and more. (Pricing: free)

StarterBuild refines your business ideas

Doing research is essential to launching (or scaling) any business—but it’s also incredibly laborious. StarterBuild crunches the data for you.

How it works: StarterBuild helps entrepreneurs develop their business ideas by generating custom reports. These range from business strategy and market analysis to revenue generation and innovation roadmaps. To use StarterBuild, simply indicate which report you want and answer basic questions about your business idea. The final report will lay out any potential risks (and the corresponding solutions) your business might face in a specific domain—so you can make informed decisions as you build. (Pricing: paid)

Fixkey helps you write with a simple keyboard shortcut

How it works: Fixkey is a macOS tool that lets you dedicate a specific key (e.g. the F10 or command key) to instantly correct the spelling, grammar, and phrasing of any text. Unlike other AI text editors, Fixkey doesn’t interrupt your writing flow. You can simply hit your dedicated key, and the tool will automatically highlight and correct the sentence you just wrote. Fixkey supports over 200 languages and is compatible with 300+ applications.

Bonus: Besides correcting typos and rephrasing sentences, you can also input custom prompts to change or interact with your writing (like asking for a summary of your text or telling Fixkey’s AI to rewrite it in the voice of Shakespeare). This onboarding video covers all the details. (Pricing: paid—offers free trial)

Motionleap brings your images to life

How it works: Motionleap is a photo editing app that adds motion effects to your images. To create a live photo, select a specific area of your image and choose the type and direction of motion you want (e.g. selecting the river in an image and directing it to flow). You can also edit in photo overlays and add 3D effects to make objects in your photo pop.

Art generation: Motionleap also has a new text-to-image AI art generator. Since it’s all in the same app, you can conveniently animate your art in just a few clicks. (Pricing: freemium)

Mootion generates complex 3D animations in seconds

How it works: Mootion is a text-to-3D tool that brings 3D characters to life from a simple text prompt. Similar to other Discord-based AI tools like Pika Labs or Midjourney, you’ll need to join Mootion’s dedicated Discord server to get started. From there, you can type in a prompt (specifying your preferred character type and how you want it to move) in the server’s chat interface. You can then download your animated 3D character as a transparent background video or FBX file.

Something to note: Currently, Mootion only offers a handful of pre-designed characters (ranging from robots to cats) to animate. Mootion has plans for users to design their own 3D character models in the future. (Pricing: paid)

And that’s a wrap! Stay tuned for Friday—I’ll be back in your inbox covering all the important AI news stories of the week. Catch you then!
